Covid-19: India reports 3688 new covid cases in 24 hour
New Delhi: India has reported 3,688 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of infections in the country since the pandemic started to 4,30,75,864. According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases increased to 18,684, with 883 new active cases in a 24-hour time span.
The country also recorded 50 deaths, taking the toll to 5,23,803. There are 18,684 active cases in India, which comprise 0.04 percent of the total infections.
Delhi has recorded 1,607 fresh COVID-19 cases with two people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate stood at 5.28 percent, the city health department said today.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded 148 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, a bulk of them in Mumbai, while two more patients succumbed to the infection in the state. With this, Maharashtra’s COVID-19 tally rose to 78,77,577, while the death toll increased to 1,47,842. Among the 148 fresh coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, Mumbai recorded 93 COVID cases in 24 hours.
