Covid-19: India reports 26,041 new cases, lowest in 191 days
New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry on Monday informed that the Nation has reported 26.041 new cases of the Covid-19. More than 29,600 people have successfully recovered after got infected. India’s active caseload drops to the lowest in 191 days.
Out of the new infections and fatalities, 15,951 cases and 165 deaths were reported in just Kerala, which is still reeling under the second wave of coronavirus.
With this, the total number of cases has increased to 33,678,786 of which, 32,931,972 have recovered, while 447,194 have succumbed to the virus. India now has 299,620 active coronavirus cases. So far, 56.44 crore tests have been conducted across the country and the weekly and daily positivity rates stand at 1.94% and 2.24% respectively.
On the other hand, more than 38.18 lakh COVID-19 doses were administered in the country in the last 24 hours, which took the cumulative total to 86.01 crores.
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 86Cr (860,159,011) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 8,407,679 sessions.
