Ben Affleck to return as Batman in Aquaman 2
Mumbai: Hollywood actor, Jason Mamoa revealed that actor Ben Affleck will return as Batman or Bruce Wayne in upcoming DC film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Mamoa took to Instagram and posted a picture with Affleck, who appeared to be dressed as Bruce Wayne. Mamoa also shared a video of the tour group outside the trailer.
“Reunited Bruce and Arthur. Love you and miss you Ben. WB studio tours just explored the back lot alright. Busted on set all great things coming Aquaman 2 all my aloha,” Mamoa wrote.
Laughing about the incident, Mamoa shared, “Well, we tried to keep it a secret! That’s what happens, Warner Bros, when you walk out of the set and there’s our fans…”
Affleck had famously dropped out of the DC Extended Universe following the critical and commercial underperformance of films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Though he was supposed to return to direct and star in a standalone Batman film, the project reworked into Matt Reeves’ The Batman starring Robert Pattinson.
Directed by James Wan and produced by Warner Bros Studios, Aquaman 2 is slated for a 2023 theatrical release. Meanwhile, there are three separate film series in the Batman universe running concurrently – The DC Extended Universe film, Reeves’ series with Pattinson, and director Todd Phillips’ Joker series.
