Ahmedabad: Over 1.73 lakh students to appear for board exams
Ahmedabad: Around 1.7 lakh students from Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board will appear for exams beginning from Monday.
Ahmedabad City District Education officer Hitendra Padheria said, “59,285 students from class 10 will appear for exams in 34 examination centers – in the city. As many as 30,493 students appearing for HSC general stream will give exams in 29 centers, while 7,652 science stream students will appear for exams in 10 exam centers.”
Ahmedabad Rural district education officer R R Vyas said, “In Ahmedabad district, 75,713 students of Class 10 and Class 12 students will give their exams in 67 centers. If the students who are yet to pay their school fees request us to allow them to appear for exams, we will issue hall tickets.”
Around 1.07 lakh of these are Class 10 students. Of the total 65,000 students appearing for HSC exams, 52,000 will appear for the general stream and 13,000 will appear for the science stream. So far, the board has allowed 115 students from Ahmedabad city and district writers to assist them in exams.
