Actor Kishor Das passes away at 30

Mumbai: Assamese actor Kishor Das succumbed to cancer on Saturday, July 02, 2022, after a prolonged battle against leukemia. He was undergoing cancer treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last. He was 30 years old.

According to family members, Das had recently tested positive for the coronavirus and that led to further deterioration in his health. The post-covid19 complications and piles were also regarded as driving factors behind his demise.

Kishor Das was admitted to the Chennai hospital in March 2022, following a prolonged treatment in a Guwahati hospital.

Hailing from Mirza in Guwahati, Das had featured in more than 300 music videos, of which song Turut Turut became Assam’s chartbuster with the most number of views.

The late actor had also starred in multiple films but will be remembered for his roles in popular local TV shows like Bidhata and Bandhun.

Kishor Das was also felicitated with Candid Young Achievement Award in 2019 and won the Most Popular Actor 2020-2021 in the Asianet Icon Awards.
