New Delhi, February 22: The United Kingdom’s government announced an invitation for Indians to apply for a visa under the “Young Professional Scheme” on Tuesday.

According to the information shared by the British High Commission in India, applicants who are between 18 to 30 years old and meet the other selection criteria can apply for the visa scheme.

The candidate will get a visa for 24 months, allowing them to enter the country at any time and leave and return during the given visa period.

The eligible candidate can enter the young professional scheme by filling out the form for ballet. They need to provide information like a name, date of birth, passport details, phone number, and email address. It is free to enter the ballet. There are only 2400 entries for the February ballet which will be open at 2:30pm IST on 28th February 2023 and close at 2:30pm IST on 2 march, so if any candidates miss out, they can apply for the next ballet, which is likely to be held in late July.

As per the scheme, the first step is to enroll in ballet. If they are selected for the ballet, which was picked randomly, then they can apply for the visa within 30 days after getting the invitation.

Those who received an invitation and are looking to get a visa must pay application fees of 259 pounds and a healthcare surcharge of 940 pounds, as well as prove that they have at least 2530 pounds in their personal savings account in order to survive in the UK. There will be no return of application fees if the candidate is rejected for the visa.

“You should only enter the ballet if you have a plan to apply for a visa, which costs 259 pounds,” stated the British High Commission in India.

This is an excellent opportunity as the scheme allows Indian and UK young candidates to stay and understand each other’s country’s culture.

In November, the “Young Professionals Scheme” was announced by PM Narendra Modi and UK PM Rishi Sunak at the G-20 summit event in Bali, Indonesia. Following that, on January 2023, the high commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, Vikram Doraiswami, and the UK permanent secretary at the Home Office, Matthew Rycroft, signed an exchange agreement in London to formalise the scheme.
