Ahmedabad: Shree Krishna Institute of Nursing, Bhabhar has won ‘One District One Green Champion’ Award by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Union Ministry of Education, under Swachhta Action Plan 2020-21. Many universities, colleges and schools have participated in Swachhta Action Plan among them only four Nursing colleges in India have won the green champion award in which one Nursing college is Shree Krishna Institute of Nursing, Bhabhar, Gujarat.
Shree Krishna institute of Nursing have always taken initiative to keep the campus and surrounding area neat ,clean, regular sanitization of campus in Covid-19 situation , thermal screening of every person at entry gate, maintaining social distance norms, virtual meetings, disposal dustbin bags on daily basis , displaying Covid-19 guidelines and messages on the campus, providing sanitizer to every visitors, and no entry without mask.
Various competitions under Swachhta Action Plan and related activities were carried out by the college from time to time with a view to promote Green Drive, garden management, maintenance, removal of weeds from garden and use of organic fertilizers and bio-pesticides, herbicides for plants and trees on the campus.
The award was the outcome of concerted efforts carried out by the staff and students of the Nursing college in carrying out plantation drives and celebrating important days like Vanmahotsav, Earth Day, etc., involvement of students in all activities under Swachhta Action Plan including greenery, water conservation, cleaning, etc.
