Rahul Gandhi Hits Back Modi over “Secret Deals” with Ambanis-Adanis
NEW DELHI, May 8: The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has hit back the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for questioning his party’s alleged “secret deals” with the top industrial houses in the country for funding the Congress election campaign with black money.
In a video message on X, Mr Gandhi asked Mr Modi to get the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe if Adani, Ambani “sent money in tempos.” He also asked if it was Mr Modi’s “personal experience.” The Congress had been accusing Mr Modi of misusing the two central agencies for harassing the opposition parties.
Launching an attack on the Congress, Mr Modi had questioned Mr Gandhi’s “stopping the bitter criticism” of the industrial houses of Ambanis and Adanis since the Lok Sabha elections were announced and had publicly said about some possible “secret deal” between the Congress and Ambanis-Adanis.
In response to the Prime Minister’s remark, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that Mr Modi’s chair was “shaking” after three phases of elections as he has started attacking his own “friends”, and asserted this shows the “real trend” of the results.
