Mukesh Ambani Beats Google and Microsoft CEOs in Brand Guardianship Index
NEW DELHI, Jan22: Reliance Industries’ chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani ranked number one in India and globally number two of all the top 100 global CEOs in the Brand Guardianship Index (BGI).
The BGI has released their list of all CEOs for 2023 with Ambani ranking first in India and second globally surpassing Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Microsoft’s CEO who was first in the 2022 global index.
The brand finance division unveiled its brand guardianship index 2023 on Thursday in Davos, Switzerland, at an event organised with the association of Deloitte during the World Economic Forum.
“Ambani continues to oversee Reliance’s transition into green energy and the diversification of its telecom and retail branches. This is reflected in Ambani’s top performance on the ‘Inspires positive change’ metric,” the BGI said.
The brand guardianship index was held under the brand finance consultancy. It is a top-tier brand strategy and valuation consultancy situated in London. The consultancy is presented in over 20 countries.
The index, which recognises CEOs on a global scale, demonstrates how they create brand and commercial value in a sustainable way while taking the needs of their stakeholders, investors, employees, and society into consideration.
The index is measured by taking three factors into account: equity, performance, and investment, which reflect current perceptions, provide tangible results of those perceptions, and support future performance, respectively.
In the Brand Guardianship Index, NVidia Corporation CEO Jensen Huang ranked in the top spot, while Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Google CEO Sunder Pichai, and Tata Corporation CEO Natranjan Chandrashekharan secured the third, fifth, and seventh positions, respectively.
