New Delhi: Assam Minister of Fisheries, Environment, Forest, and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya on Tuesday launched India’s first e-fish marketing app Fishwaale in the northeastern state.

Developed by Aqua Blue Global Aquaculture Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the Fisheries Department, the app will work as a one-stop solution for aquaculture. The platform will allow buyers and sellers to order and sell fish, aquaculture equipment and medicine, fish feed, and fish seeds.

These products will be available to both whole-sellers and retailers. Aquarium tanks, ornamental fish, and equipment can now be ordered online.

Table-sized fish like Bhangon, Mrigal, and Rohu and freshwater and seawater frozen fish (in an icebox) will become available via the app, along with dry fish packets, dry raw fish, fish pickles, and processed fish products.

Addressing the launch event, the minister said the Fishwaale app will eliminate middlemen and help the fish farming community get reasonable prices for their produce.
