Firing at Kolkata Museum, One CISF Jawan Killed
NEW DELHI, Aug 6: A Central Industrial Security Force personal was killed and several of his colleagues injured when a man opened fire at the Indian Museum in Kolkata on Saturday evening.
The initial reports indicated that the person who opened fire was also a CISF jawan who fired at a CISF vehicle injuring several of them while the person on the driver’s wheels got killed, according to sources.
The reason for his firing at his colleagues was not immediately known. The CISF had taken over the armed security of the museum in December, 2019. The museum, located in the heart of Kolkata, is an autonomous organisation under the administrative control of the Union Ministry of Culture.
