NEW DELHI, Dec 26: Three people, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a private IT company, have been arrested for alleged gang rape in a moving car of a female manager of the company after a birthday party in Udaipur in Rajasthan, the police said on Friday.

According to police, the accused CEO, Jitesh Sisodia, had organised a party on his birthday last Saturday, in which the manager was also a guest. The other accused in the case were a female executive head of the company and her husband Gaurav Sirohi of Meerut.

All three accused were arrested on Thursday and produced before a court, which remanded them to four-day police custody. “The accused were arrested following the registration of a case at Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. They were produced before a court on Thursday and sent on four-day police remand,” Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said.

According to the woman’s complaint, she was left alone as other guests gradually left after the party. The female executive head then offered to drop her home and took the woman in her car, in which Sisodia and Sirohi were also seated.

On the way, they bought something resembling cigarettes from a shop and offered it to the woman. She allegedly lost consciousness after consuming it. She woke up the next morning to realise that she was sexually assaulted, the complaint said.

Based on the woman manager’s complaint, a case was registered, and the three accused were detained and arrested after interrogation, police said. The woman’s medical examination was done and statements were recorded, and the case was handed over to Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri Verma, they added.

According to the police, the victim arrived at the party at around 9 pm. Everyone present at the party had consumed alcohol, including the victim, who was heavily drunk. Around 1:30 pm, the CEO, Jitesh Prakash Sisodia, his woman colleague and her husband, Gaurav Sirohi, offered the victim a ride back home when her health began to deteriorate. It was the woman executive head who took the victim in her car, officials said.

During the journey, the three accused stopped the vehicle to buy a substance resembling cigarettes from a shop and gave it to the victim. She allegedly became unconscious after consuming it. The next morning, the victim realised that she had been sexually assaulted and filed a complaint. The police recorded the victim’s statement and filed a case. Her medical examination has also been conducted.

Cops are also probing the evidence recovered from the accused’s car. Sisodia is the CEO of GKM IT company in Shobhagpura, Udaipur, and lives in Sky Marina Apartments – one of Udaipur’s most luxurious and expensive apartments. The female executive head and her husband are residents of Hitawala Apartments in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut.

In her statement to the police, the woman, however, said she lost consciousness after consuming the cigarette-like substance. In her complaint, the woman said she regained consciousness while she was being sexually assaulted inside the moving vehicle. She alleged that all three accused were involved despite her attempts to resist.

She further stated that she was allegedly kept inside the car until the early hours of the morning and was later dropped at her residence. The woman said she experienced severe pain and weakness, following which she underwent a medical examination at a private hospital. According to her complaint, the medical report confirmed sexual assault, after which she approached the police.

Based on her statement, a case was registered at Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
