Boy Survives Snake Bite but Snake Dies in Human Bite!
NEW DELHI, Nov 5: In a scary but hitherto unheard incident, an eight-year old boy survived a Cobra bite but the snake died when he instinctively bit it back twice.
The incident was of Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh when eight-year-old Deepak was playing in the backyard of his house. He had the scare of his life when he suddenly noticed a cobra wrapped itself around his arm and sank its fangs into his flesh.
Deepak was in agony from the snakebite but was unable to shake the reptile off. That’s when his survival instincts took over. Out of great pain and anger he bit the venomous snake back twice and managed to kill it on the spot and get rid of the reptile.
“The snake got wrapped around my hand and bit me. I was in great pain. As the reptile didn’t budge when I tried to shake it off, I bit it hard twice. It all happened in a flash,” Deepak said. When he told his parents about the snake bite, the boy’s family rushed him to a medical centre, where he was administered anti-venom and kept under observation for a day.
An examination of Deepak’s injury led doctors to conclude that he sustained a “dry bite” meaning the cobra did not release any venom. The boy was discharged from hospital and is fit and fine, reports said.
