NEW DELHI, Oct 5: India’s chances of making it to “Iss Baar Sau Paar” looks an immense possibility on the Day 12 of the Asian Games on Thursday having already bagged 86 medals – (21 gold, 32 silver and 33 bronze).

On Thursday, India added three more gold medals to its tally with Dipika Pallikal/Harinder Pal Singh (squash, mixed team), men’s compound archery team and women’s compound archery team finished on top of their respective events.

Saurav Ghosal faltered in the final and had to content with silver in men’s singles squash. Antim Panghal won a bronze in women’s wrestling. There were mixed results in badminton as HS Prannoy entered the badminton men’s singles semi-final but PV Sindhu’s hopes of winning another Asian Games medal were dashed after she lost to China’s Bingjiao He in the women’s singles quarterfinal.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty enter Asian Games badminton men’s doubles semi-final, assured of a medal. They defeated Singapore’s Nge Joo Jie/Johann Prajogo 21-7, 21-9.

In sport climbing, the Indian climbers started their campaign in boulder and lead events on a positive note as all four advanced to the semi-finals. The men and women will play their semi-final clashes on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Indian men’s hockey, cricket and kabaddi teams are still in the hunt for gold while women’s kabaddi team is also in the race, but the bad news came from the women’s hockey team that lost to China in the semi-final by 4-0. A lot of medal events will happen on Friday and Saturday as India’s charge towards 100 medals continue.
