Arnab Goswami Moves Supreme Court against Bombay High Court Rejecting his Interim Bail
NEW DELHI, Nov 10: The editor-in-chief of the Republic TV Arnab Goswami has moved the Supreme Court against the Bombay High Court’s order on Monday rejecting his interim bail plea.
Goswami along with Feroze Shaikh and Nitish Sarda were arrested on November 4 by the Alibaug police for alleged abetment to suicide by an interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in May, 2018, who claimed to have designed the Republic TV studio and the companies of his co-accused but the trio refused to pay him money.
The 47-year-old journalist was remanded to judicial custody till November 18. The High Court on Monday rejected his interim bail plea and advised him to approach the sessions court for regular bail which his lawyer accordingly filed. The High Court has asked the sessions court to decide the bail pleas of Goswami and his two co-accused in four days.
