Modi Claimed his Political Rivals had Prayed in Kashi for his Death
NEW DELHI, Feb 27: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that his political rivals had offered prayers in Kashi for his death.
Addressing a BJP rally in Varanasi, his Parliamentary constituency, on Sunday, Modi told the people that “prayers” were offered for his death by his political rivals. “We have seen how much people have stooped low in Indian politics but when in Kashi prayers for my death were done, I felt elated,” he said. “This meant that till my death neither will I leave Kashi nor its people will leave me,” Modi added.
Varanasi — the Lok Sabha constituency of the Prime Minister since 2014 — goes to polls on the last phase on March 7. There are five assembly constituencies under the parliamentary seat — Varanasi North, Varanasi South, Varanasi Cantonment, Sevapuri and Rohaniya. In the 2017 assembly election, Apna Dal (Sonelal) won one seat and the BJP the remaining 4.
The Prime Minister also targeted the opposition Samajwadi Party alleging that terrorists operated during its rule without any fear.
