New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has joined the prediction and views of many political experts. On Tuesday, at the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) meeting, Sonia Gandhi said that “The road ahead for the Congress is more challenging than ever before,”

A statement from Sonia Gandhi arrived after losing the assembly election in five states. “The spirit of resilience of Party is under severe test,” she added.

The Congress chief further added that “Unity at all levels of the organization is of paramount importance. I am determined to do whatever is needed to ensure it. The revival of Congress is not just a matter of importance to us, but it is essential for our democracy, country, and society as well,”

Meanwhile, taking a swipe at the Congress, Union Minister and BJP leader Anurag Thakur suggested the party’s dependence on the Gandhi family has ruined its electoral chances. Thakur said that “Congress does not look outside the Gandhi family. Rahul Gandhi took charge but did not get any seats in West Bengal. Priyanka Gandhi took charge of UP but lost deposits and won only two seats. Now again Sonia Gandhi has taken command of the party.”
