Gujarat University, Ahmedabad — On April 4, 2025, Gujarat University’s Department of Mass Media Communication and Journalism successfully completed its puppetry workshop with an interesting performance called “10th Bole To??” The workshop, which started on March 24, 2025, addressed the immense pressure that 10th graders experience from school authorities, parents and student comparisons, and societal expectations.
The program explored the difficulties that students face as a result of the high demands that society, their parents, and their schools place on them. It emphasized the detrimental effects of continuously comparing oneself to other students and peers, as well as the excessive demands of coaching sessions and tuition. On the other hand, the program also included the opinions of loving parents who value compassion and understanding for their kids.
The production was brought to life by the creative efforts of the students of MMCJ, who crafted the puppets, designed the sets, and wrote the script. The performance resonated deeply with the audience, shedding light on the struggles and aspirations of 10th Class students. The event also acknowledged the mentorship and guidance provided by Chirag Parekh, the mentor for the workshop, and the invaluable contributions of Ramesh Raval Sir, who helped in crafting the puppets.
