APSEZ fire services team awarded two national level awards in Safe-Tech awards & conference

Fire Services team of Adani Ports & SEZ (APSEZ) got two national level awards for bravery and technical paper presentation in Safe-Tech awards & conference organized by Kings ExpoMedia recently at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. The Fire Services team at APSEZ aims towards achieving zero accident in the workplace and as a part of this mechanism, there are dedicated committees and various functional teams to ensure safety and implementation of safety standards at all levels. Safety and Health Policy of the company commits to being an injury free organization ensuring safety and health of employees, contractors, and visitors in the organization. Not only so, but they also actively respond to outside port emergencies as a part of the CSR activities.

The “Safe India Hero Plus Awards” was received in recognition for saving lives of two drivers in a critical road accident and rescue operation by Ratnadip Trivedi (Ass. Manager, APSEZ fire services) and for saving a life of a driver in a critical road accident and speedy & safe rescue operation by Himanshu Gehlot (Fire officer, West Basin Fire Services, Mundra). The above awards were given by Mukesh R Patil (Additional Director of DISH, Maharashtra), Santosh Warrick (Director, Mumbai Fire Brigade) and Dr N.K Gupta (CEO of Kings ExpoMedia). Also, Dr Rakesh Chaturvedi (AGM, APSEZ Fire services) presented a technical paper on comparison of various fire suppression technologies and latest aerosol-based fire detection cum suppression & Hypoxic environment fire prevention technologies in SAFE-TECH Awards & Conference.

Later, APSEZ fire services also organized an internal team felicitation for both winners of National Level Bravery Awards. Ratnadip Trivedi was honoured by Shivaraman Lvc (Head OHS&F) in the presence of fire team members. Himanshu Gehlot was honored by K. Hari (Head, west basin terminal) and Dr Rakesh Chaturvedi & Pritesh Modha (Incharge, west basin fire services) and team members. The team was amused with the recognition for exemplary conduct in fire safety operations by individual fire safety personnel.

The awards ceremony was attended by about 700 guests, including Safety Heads, Fire HODs, Safety Professionals, EHS Professionals, OHS Professionals, from Pan India industries. Fire officers & fire safety consultants from all over India had graced the show and the best safety practices followed in industrial workplaces and workmen safety in industrial units as well as all the brave firefighters and rescuers were rightly awarded.
