Ahmedabad, marked the record for the maximum number of passengers using Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The airport served 37696 passengers, which is the highest ever recorded. The 37696 passengers traveled through 267 flights. SVPI airport management is committed to providing convenient and seamless passenger movement with the highest safety standards.
Over the last couple of years, several infrastructure additions and service introductions have taken place to enhance the passenger experience at SVPI airport. The additions like the Goodness desk, dynamic queue management, and floor walking customer service executives to help passengers pass through the terminal building have added to the seamless travel experience. Recently, digital barcode scanners were introduced for faster entry from the terminal gate along with new infrastructure like a large arrival hall with an additional belt, upgraded baggage check-in system, increased preSHA area, increased x-ray machines, and required infrastructure. Recently, two new boarding gates were introduced in the domestic terminal, and all new security hold area will be operational soon to add to the capacity and efficiency.
Of 37696 passengers, 31688 were domestic, and 6008 were international, on various scheduled and non-scheduled flights. Nonschedule flight movement has significantly increased over a year because of the dedicated general aviation terminal. Ahmedabad’s top three international destinations were Dubai, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru remain the top three domestic destinations. SVPIA connects to 33 domestic and 15 international destinations and continues to increase its domestic and international connectivity footprint.
