The 1971 war started on 3 December, when Pakistan attacked Indian airspace and border area. This operation was carried out by the Navy to answer the Pakistani. This operation was started by targeting the headquarters of the Pakistani Navy, which was in Karachi.

In this attack by India, 3 Vidyut class missile boats, 2 antisubmarine, and a tanker were involved. India planned to attack Pakistan at night because Pakistan did not have such aircraft, which could bomb at night. In this war, 5 soldiers of Pakistan were killed and more than 700 were injured.
