Mumbai: Popular production studio, Warner Bros cancelled the DC FanDome Event 2022 and is expected to hold various Comi-Con events globally.
The Warner Bros. Discovery issued an official statement saying that the company decided against producing a FanDome this year in response to in-person events and are instead planning to announce news through various global comic conventions.
The DC FanDome is an annual virtual event that was established during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in the year 2020. However, the event will not be held this year, as revealed by the authorities.
The two conferences over the years have unveiled trailers for anticipated projects including The Batman, The Snyder Cut and Peacemaker. The event has also provided news and announcements regarding developing films and web or television series.
Talking about the cancellation of the event, DC’s statement read, “With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.”
The news follows the DC representation at the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022, wherein two films namely Black Adam and Shazam sequel, Fury of the Gods, was showcased by Warner Bros. in front of an hour-long panel.
Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is expected to release in October 2022, whereas film Shazam: Fury of the Gods! got delayed. The film was expected to roll out this year but will now release in March 2023.
