The construction in 17 States and Union Territories (UTs) will take place under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC), and In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) verticals of the PMAY (U). The CSMC also approved a project revision for 3.74 lakh houses in 14 states and UTs.

The MoHUA Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra presided over the conference to address construction issues and asked the respective states and UTs to resolve any issues without delays. He emphasized accelerating construction to achieve the promised goal of Housing for All till 2022.

The PMAY (U) houses are in various stages. From a total of 1.14 crore sanctioned houses, 89 lakh will start construction while 52.5 lakh are completed and delivered to beneficiaries.

The scheme costs Rs. 7.52 lakh crores with Rs. 1.85 lakh crores as assistance from the central government, as Rs 1.13 lakh crores released as funds.

Mishra also launched an e-Finance module to be designed and integrated within all PMAY-U MIS system modules to provide stakeholders with a Direct Benefit Transfer mode for disbursing funds and validating beneficiaries.

Inaugurating the module, the Secretary said, “The e-Finance module launched with a specific purpose of removing any misinformation. Now, there will be transparency and capturing of all financial data on the platform.”

“Training programmes should be organised region-wise across states and UTs so that officers and MIS personnel can implement the module at the earliest,” he added.
