Tremors jolt Dharamshala, Ratnagiri

New Delhi: Tremors with an intensity of 3.4 on the Richter scale hit Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh as another medium-intensity temblor of 4  was experienced in Ratnagiri, around 350kms from Mumbai on Monday.

The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) reported the earthquake occurrence at Dharmashala around 11:40 am with an epicenter depth of around 74kms. Sharing a seismograph, it tweeted, “An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 occurred on November 15, 2021, at 11:41 am IST on latitude 32.86, longitude 76.11, and depth of 5kms, Located 74kms North-Northwest of Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India.”

About the Maharashtra quake, it said, “An earthquake with magnitude 4.0 occurred on November 15, 2021, at 02:36 am IST on latitude 17.19, longitude 73.71, and depth of 5kms near Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, India.”

There are no immediate reports regarding loss of life or damage to property.

Dharamshala is the second region in Himachal to experience earthquakes this month after Kinnaur experienced a 4.4 magnitude earthquake on November 9.
