Tremblor of magnitude 4.3 strikes Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi: An earthquake with a magnitude intensity of 4.3 on the Richter scale struck the Pangin and adjoining districts of Arunachal Pradesh during the early hours of Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared seismographs on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas.

“Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred on May 24, 2022, 12:41 am IST on latitude 34.24 and longitude 96.46 with a depth of 72 km located 687 km North of Pangin, Arunachal Pradesh, India,” the NCS informed.

No reports of damages to life or property surfaced so far. The North-eastern India is an earthquake-prone region that falls in the hazardous zone category number five. The region began experiencing frequent tremblors this month.
