New Delhi: An earthquake measuring a magnitude intensity of 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted the Fayzabad district of Afghanistan on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared seismographs on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas. According to the NCS, the tremblor occurred in the Southeast of Fayzabad and affected the Afghanistan-Tajikstan border on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
“Earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred on June 14, 2022, 01:05 PM IST on latitude 36.42 and longitude 71.23 with a depth of 180 km located 96 km Southeast of Fayzabad, Afghanistan,” the NCS tweeted.
The tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir as well. However, no reports of damages to life or property surfaced so far.
