New Delhi: A mild earthquake measuring a magnitude intensity of 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted the state of Manipur around 12 PM on August 13, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared a seismograph on Twitter, highlighting the affected regions. According to the department, the epicentre is located approximately 130 km South-east (SE) of Moirang district in Manipur.
βAn earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred on August 13, 2022, 12:14 IST, on latitude 23.64 and longitude 94.65 with a depth of 90 km located 130 km SE of Moirang, Manipur, India,β the NCS informed.
The region falls under the seismic hazard zone 5 and is prone to tremblors. However, no reports of damages or casualties surfaced so far.
