Tremblor: 2 Earthquakes Jolt Karnataka and J&K on Tuesday

New Delhi: According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), two earthquakes jolted Karnataka and Jammu, and Kashmir on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

An earthquake measuring 3.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck the Hampi district of Karnataka around 11 am on Tuesday.

The NCS informed the earthquake on Twitter with a caption that read, “Earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred on March 22, 2022, 11:21 am IST on latitude 16.74 and longitude 75.87 with a depth of 10km located 168 km North-Northwest of Hampi, Karnataka, India.”

Another earthquake with a magnitude intensity of 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted the Leh of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Sharing seismographs highlighting the affected areas, the NCS tweeted, “Earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred on March 22, 2022, 02:36 am IST on latitude 34.49 and longitude 78.49 with a depth of 10 km located 91 km East-Northeast of Leh, Ladakh, India.”

No reports of damage and losses surfaced so far.
