The Kashmir Files beats top films in IMDb ratings

New Delhi: The most anticipated Bollywood film, The Kashmir Files, has beaten the scores of top global films like Jai Bhim, Avatar, and Titanic, with an IMDb rating of 10 out of 10. The film released on Friday, March 11, 2022.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo di Caprio’s much-loved film, Titanic, has a rating of 7.9 on IMDb, whereas James Cameron’s directorial Avatar has a 7.9 IMDb score. On the other hand, Suriya’s globally released film Jai Bhim has a score of 9.5 on IMDb.

Actor Anupam Kher shared a screenshot of the IMDb ratings on Twitter with a caption that read, “The love of the citizens…their blessings…their tears…are slowly taking our film, The Kashmir Files, forward. There is a delay, not darkness in the house of the lord! Jay Maa Kheer Bhavani! Jay Bholenath!”

The film is based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits after a genocide wherein lakhs of pandits lost their lives and homes in 1990. The film pledged to present a realistic depiction of events.

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri and shown around 630 film theatres across the country, the Kashmir files minted  3.55 crores of box office collections on day one. The film continues to create a stir among contemporary Indian audiences.
