New Delhi, July 15: Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz won this year’s Wimbledon after defeating the 24 Grand Slam Serbian winner Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Sunday, the media reported. The world no.3 Alcaraz won 6-2,6-2,7-6,7-4 against world no.2 Novak.

After winning the tournament, Alcaraz said he remains focused on the future. “At the end of my career, I want to sit at the table as a big guy. That’s my main goal. That’s my dream right now. It doesn’t matter if I already won four Grand Slams at the age of 21.”

His victory stopped Novak who has seven Wimbledon titles, catching up with Roger Federer, with eight. Alcaraz, 21, has now become the sixth tennis player to win the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year. His compatriot, legend Rafael Nadal congratulated Alcaraz on his Wimbledon title win.
