Mumbai: The first volume of the fourth and final season of Netflix original show, Stranger Things, premiered on the OTT giant on Friday, May 27, 2022. The Gateway of India in Mumbai was lit up hours before the volume began to stream on Netflix.
The iconic landmark was lit up to celebrate the launch of Stranger Things 4. It displayed a larger-than-life projection of the show’s theme and displayed rifts through projection mapping, keeping the plot in mind. It also displayed pictures of lead characters, including Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max, and scenes from the series.
The Gateway of India is one of the 15 prominent global monuments that will display rifts to mark the launch of Stranger Things 4. Empire State Building in New York, Duomo Square in Milan, Bondi Beach in Australia, Malecon Barranquilla in Colombia, and The Wawel Castle in Krakow are among the other monuments that will depict the launch of the series.
The popular Sci-fi horror-drama is also available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The synopsis of season 4 reads, “It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier.
“In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down,” it added.
