New Delhi: Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s song titled SYL released on his official YouTube channel. The song grossed over fifteen million views in less than 24 hours of its release.

The song was recorded weeks before the singer’s untimely demise. SYL was written, composed, and sung by Moosewala.

The song, Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL), talks about Punjab’s rights over river waters. The song was released a day after it was leaked on Wednesday.

However, the late singer’s family had urged music producers to refrain from releasing his songs without his father, Balkaur Singh’s consent.

The latest song left fans emotional. One of the users wrote, “His success is not his body, his success is his soul and his music so it doesn’t matter if Sidhu is here or not because he is living with his soul in his songs in us. His music is in our ears then hearts and brains. Rest in peace, rest in power.”

SYL is Moosewala’s first song that has been released after his demise. His other unfinished songs are anticipated to be released soon.

Singer and Congress leader, Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa district of Punjab on May 29, 2022. The case is still under investigation.
