Mumbai: The makers released a monochromatic teaser of upcoming film, Shamshera, on Friday, February 11, 202, to announce the release date.
The teaser showcases protagonists Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Vaani Kapoor sitting in a dimly lit area filled with weapons.
A dacoit drama set in the 19th century, Shamshera chronicles the story of a dacoit tribe fighting for their right and independence from the British.
Actors Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla and Ashutosh Rana will also be seen in pivotal roles.
Directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra, the crime-drama will release in theatres on July 22, 2022, in Hindi, English, and Tamil Languages.
A massive fort for the film was built at Film City, Goregaon, requiring two months of preparation and the effort of nearly 300 workers. Vaani Kapoor took professional training in Kathak for the movie.
Shamshera was initially slated for a worldwide release on July 31, 2022. However, the surge in the coronavirus cases led to multiple delays.
Ajay- Atul and Mithoon will produce the music for the film.
Sanjay Dutt’s last movie was Bhuj: The Pride of India as a RAW agent in the Indian Army, Vaani’s last appearance was in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui as a trans woman, whereas Ranbir’s last film was the biopic Sanju.
