New Delhi: Russia acknowledges its responsibility to solve the many challenges on the global landscape and is ready to do its part to facilitate said problems, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said at the 15th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Baku on Thursday.

The minister said international relations have become fragmented recently but the globalization of processes “continues to be a reality in terms of shared challenges and tasks.”

“The pandemic, climate change, the green transition, population growth, food security, water use, artificial intelligence, strategic stability – all these tasks and challenges won’t disappear and will objectively require the development of algorithms to join efforts on a truly collective basis. And these efforts really have to be made by all the major players. Russia, which bears a special responsibility for solving these multiple problems is ready to contribute,” Grushko said.

He said Moscow is open to honest and equitable cooperation with all countries.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Valdai international discussion club meeting Thursday said, The age of Western global dominance is becoming a thing of the past, and the world has the most important decade since the end of World War II ahead.

In his speech, Putin underscored that Russia does not oppose Western elites and does not aspire for hegemony in the new multipolar world; he juxtaposed true integration to the Western “neo-colonial” globalization, and called to “build a symphony of the human civilization.” Answering the questions from the participants, Putin said he sees no point in relocation of the Russian capital or nationalization of businesses, made a joke about nuclear war and told a joke about freezing Germans.
