“Respect and equality for women can make India move forward,” said PM

New Delhi, March 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the post-budget webinar on the “economic empowerment of women,” where he said that respect for women and equality can make India move forward in every field.

 

While talking about the woman and the deployment, the PM said that “looking at its past years, India has tried to carry forward the efforts of women’s development to ‘woman-led development’ in the global arena.” He further added, “I call upon all of you to move forward with determination to remove every obstacle from the way of all women, sisters and daughters.”

 

The 11th of a series of 12 post-budget webinars was organized by the government with the aim of getting better ideas and suggestions for effective implementation for the Union budget 2023. The PM also said that this year’s budget will be designed in a way to also follow women-led developments.

 

Further, he said that the number of girls studying in high schools and above has tripled in the last nine to ten years; even the girls’ enrolment in science, technology, engineering, and math is at 43 percent today, which is more than countries like America, the U.K., and Germany.

 

Even the various schemes were kept in force to empower women, “the PM Awas has given a woman a new voice in the economic decisions of the household, and the Wishwakarma scheme brought in the budget will bring opportunities needed to be leverage for women’s empowerment,” “said the PM. Moreover, he mentioned the self-help group, where one out of every five non-farm businesses is run by women.

 

The prime minister pinned out the role of women and their contribution in the development of the country, as he concluded his speech with a quote given by President Dropadi Murmu on International Women’s Day: “It is up to us, each of us, to hasten women’s progress. Thus, today, I wish to urge each of you to commit yourself to one change in your family, neighbourhood, or workplace—any change that would bring a smile on a girl’s face or improve her chances of moving ahead in life. That is one request, as I said before, straight from the heart.”
