New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu visited the headquarters of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla on Friday, where she was briefed on the command’s evolution and its role in enhancing the operational capabilities of the Indian Army.
She was received by Kavinder Gupta and Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC.
Officials presented an overview of key initiatives, including advancements in drone training, the adoption of niche technologies, the concept of “Red Teaming,” and ongoing efforts in digitisation and automation.
The President highlighted ARTRAC’s broader role in shaping modern warfare strategies, developing resources, and strengthening collaboration with friendly foreign nations and other armed forces. She described the command as a vital pillar in promoting military excellence, self-reliance, and India’s development vision.
With a network of 32 premier training institutions, ARTRAC continues to enhance professionalism within the Army and provide a modern outlook on warfare.
During her visit, President Murmu also interacted with senior officials, emphasising the importance of maintaining high levels of preparedness and encouraging personnel to continue their duties with dedication.
