New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday received credentials from Nepal’s new Ambassador, Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, an economist, and a former US diplomat.
Dr. Sharma, who was sworn in as Ambassador of Nepal to India on March 20, 2022, submitted his credentials to the President during a visit.
In a tweet, he stated “Honored to have formally presented my credentials to His Excellency President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind @rashtrapatibhvn. I look forward to taking our strong, age-old ties between Nepal and India to new heights.”
In addition, the new Ambassadors of the Slovak Republic, Robert Maxian, and the Republic of Sudan, Abdalla Omar Bashir Elhusain, also presented their credentials to the President.
The Office of the President of India in a tweet stated, “President Ram Nath Kovind accepted credentials from Ambassadors of Slovak Republic, Republic of Sudan and Nepal at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.”
The President congratulated them and emphasized India’s warm and friendly relations with their respective countries. He also greeted their leaders through the new Ambassadors.
