Gujarat Media Club Secretary General Sanjay Pandey said, On the auspicious occasion of Sharad Purnima, a day revered in the Hindu calendar, the Gujarat Media Club (GMC) has taken a significant step forward in safeguarding the welfare of journalists across Gujarat.
Journalists, based in Gujarat, have always dreamed of creating a dedicated fund to support their peers in times of distress and health emergencies. Yesterday, that vision has been realized under the leadership of our President, Shri Nirnay Kapoor, with the establishment of the Gujarat Media Club Welfare Fund – 2024. This fund has been created to address medical emergencies and life-threatening crises faced by both GMC members and non-members working within Gujarat.

As the founding Secretary, I can confidently say that it was through the tireless efforts of President Shri Nirnay Kapoor that this initiative came to fruition. His dedication has led to the creation of a fund that will provide direct support to journalists during times of critical need.
At the unveiling of the Gujarat Media Club Welfare Fund – 2024 while presenting Letter of Investiture, the Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Bhupendra Patel, expressed his admiration for the fund, which has been established with a corpus of Rs. 1 crore. He highlighted the sustainability of the fund, noting that the interest alone would enable us to manage the welfare needs of journalists in the years to come.
The date of October 16, 2024, will be remembered as a historic day for the Gujarat Media Club. President Shri Nirnay Kapoor deserves recognition for making this dream a reality.
Moving forward, we aim to expand our initiatives and continue addressing the welfare of media professionals with your active support.
