PM: Our government is committed to the respect and empowerment of women

New Delhi, April 3: The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, re-tweeted the post shared by the “Indian Post” on their Twitter account about the new scheme for women, which is included in the financial budget for the year 2023–24, with an aim to empower women financially.
It read, “To give financial empowerment to women, from today onward, the Mahila Samman Savings Certificates were made available in 1.59 lakh post offices all over the nation.”
PM Narendra Modi re-tweeted, “Our government is committed to the respect and empowerment of women and the Mahila Samman Bachat Patra is the best example to prove that.”
Recently, the ministry of finance issued the guidelines for Mahila Samman Savings Certificates 2023, which is a scheme announced in the 2023–24 budgets by the union finance minister, Nirmala Sitaraman, a saving programme for women, which has been made available in 1.59 lakh post offices all over the country.
Mahila Samman Savings Certificate is a new small savings scheme that encourages women to make investments and saving. In this scheme, the minimum investment amount is Rs. 1000, and the maximum amount is Rs. 1.5 lakh per financial year. Furthermore, in the scheme, the beneficiary can withdraw a premature amount after one year, and for that, only a nominal penalty will be charged.
The scheme has been made with an aim towards the financial inclusion of women and girls and to make them financially stable. The “Indian Post” Twitter account shared the news by announcing the scheme; it read, “To give financial empowerment to women, from today onward, the Mahila Samman Savings Certificates were made available in 1.59 lakh post offices all over the nation.”
