New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a series of religious and public events in Gujarat on Monday.

The Prime Minister arrived in Jamnagar late on Sunday night and is scheduled to attend the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav at the Somnath Temple at around 10:15 AM on Monday. Later in the evening, he will travel to Vadodara.

At Somnath, PM Modi will take part in celebrations marking 75 years since the inauguration of the restored Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a prominent symbol of India’s spiritual and civilisational heritage.

During the event, the Prime Minister will participate in a Vishesh Maha Puja, followed by the Kumbhabhishek and Dhvajarohan ceremonies, which are significant consecration rituals associated with the temple.

He will also release a commemorative stamp and coin to mark the occasion and honour the historical and spiritual significance of the Somnath Temple.

The Somnath Amrut Mahotsav is being organised to commemorate the restoration and inauguration of the temple in 1951 on May 11, an event closely associated with India’s post-independence cultural resurgence.

Later in the day, PM Modi will inaugurate the Sardardham Hostel in Vadodara and address a public gathering. The newly developed facility includes accommodation for 1,000 boys and 1,000 girls and is equipped with modern amenities such as a central dining hall, library, auditorium and e-library.

The Prime Minister will also visit various facilities at the Sardardham complex, including the reception area, civil amenities, dining area and e-Library.
