Ahmedabad, 28 March 2023: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport will have more flights to passengers’ favorite destinations this summer as per the summer schedule 2023. About 20% more flights from April and about 26% from September 2023 compared to the winter schedule, adding a few new destinations, and increasing frequencies to favorite destinations for summer vacations.
Planning for summer vacations will get more exciting due to increased destinations to travel to this year from SVPI airport. New destinations like Nasik, Vishakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Pantnagar, Durgapur, Agartala, and Raipur are to start during this summer schedule by different airlines. In addition, some of the favorite destinations, like North Goa Mopa airport, Lucknow, Bangaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, Pune, and Delhi, will have more flights than the winter schedule.
The new destinations are likely to start this summer either by direct flight or by one-stop flight operating with the same aircraft to ensure passenger comfort. As a result, total flight movement is expected to increase by 20% in April from 1346 weekly flights to 1620. The same is expected to increase further by 6% in September 2023.
Vacation abroad will also become more exciting, with new destinations likely to start. As Air India announced a direct flight to Gatwick airport from Ahmedabad, a new flight to Baghdad is also likely to start—flights to Jeddah to start and frequency for Abu Dhabi to increase this summer schedule. As a result, international flight movements will increase by 20% in Apr’23 and 27% in Sep’23 from 187 weekly movements to 224 weekly in Apr’23 and 237 weekly in Sep’23 for Summer compared to the winter schedule. As per the new summer schedule, the SVPI airport will connect Ahmedabad to 39 domestic and 19 international destinations with nine domestic and 17 international airline carriers.
