Disrespect for the faith and belief of Hindus
The Hindu activists protested against the lead actor Amir Khan and demanded a ban on the screening of the movie. They alleged that the movie not only portrays Lord Shiva in a derogatory manner but also showed pamphlets declaring Hindu deities like Hanuman and Laxmi as “missing”.
The activists had further said that Bollywood was afraid to make movies portraying Muslim clergy or the Church in a bad light, however, it keeps hurting the sentiments of Hindus by insulting their gods and showing Hindu gurus as villains.
Hurting the sentiments of Sikhs and Insulting of Indian Army
Former England spinner Monty Panesar also criticized Amir Khan’d latest released movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, he said, “Forrest Gump fits in the US Army because the US was recruiting low-IQ men to meet requirements for the Vietnam War. This movie is a total disgrace to the Indian Armed Forces Indian Army and Sikhs !! Disrespectful. Disgraceful. BoycottLalSinghChadda,”
A lawyer in Delhi, Vineet Jindal, has filed a complaint with Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, alleging that Aamir’s portrayal of Laal Singh Chaddha has insulted Indian Army personnel. Vineet also said in his complaint that a sequence in the film offends the religious emotions of a specific community.
the complaint reads, “In the movie, the makers have depicted that a mentally challenged person was allowed to join Army to fight in the Kargil War. It is a well-known fact that the best army personnel were sent to fight the Kargil war and rigorously trained army personnel fought the war but the movie makers intentionally depicted the said situation to demoralize and defame the Indian army.”
