New Delhi, June 27: Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah will miss the Olympic Games 2024, starting in July in Paris, because of an injury, the media reported on Thursday. Elaine,31 suffered an Achilles injury at the New York Grand Prix on June 9.
“It’s been a long road but I’m willing to start over, keep working, make a full recovery, and resume my track career. I’m hurt and devastated to be missing the Olympics this year but my health comes first,” Elaine wrote on her Instagram account.
In her Olympic career, Thompson-Herah won five gold medals. She holds a record as the only sprinter, other than Usain Bolt, to win multiple Olympic titles in both the 100m and 200m.
