New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted widespread rainfall over Northern, Central, North-eastern, and Southern India on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
On Thursday, the IMD shared a spatial rainfall distribution map on Twitter, that indicated rainfall in most parts of the country except the Northwest regions of India.
Talking about rains in north India, NCS tweeted, “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during September 22-24; Assam and Meghalaya during September 22-23.
“Haryana and Chandigarh on September 22; East Uttar Pradesh during September 22, 23, 25 and 26 and over East Rajasthan on September 22-24. Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh on September 22, 2022,” it added.
Informing about the possibility of rain in East, Southern and Central India, the IMD wrote, “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Odisha and Telangana on September 22, and Madhya Pradesh during September 22 and September 23, 2022.”
