IMD predicts rainfall in Northernmost, Central, and Southern parts of India

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) took to Twitter and predicted rainfall in Northern and Southern parts of India on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

The department shared spatial rainfall distribution maps that indicated widespread rainfall between August 25 and August 29, 2022.

IMD informed regarding rainfall conditions in Southern parts of India and wrote, “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over South Interior Karnataka on August 26; Rayalaseema during August 25-27; Telangana on August 27 and August 28; Kerala and Mahe during August 26-28; and over Tamil Nadu for the next 5 days.”

Predicting rainfall in the Northernmost parts of the country, IMD wrote, “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Jammu and Kashmir on August 25; Himachal Pradesh on August 28; and over Uttarakhand on August 28 and August 29, 2022.”

Meanwhile, the recent depression will also lead to monsoon conditions and bring rainfall over Vidharbha region, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between August 25 and August 28, 2022.

“Under the influence of the above systems: Widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Vidarbha on August 28, and East Madhya Pradesh and  Chhattisgarh during August 25 and 28, 2022,” it added.
