New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rainfall with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds in the Western Himalayan and North-eastern regions on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
The IMD shared the spatial rainfall distribution map of India on Twitter and wrote, “Likely occurrences of rain and thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Western Himalayan Region and adjoining plains on April 20 and 21, with peak activities on April 21, 2022.
The map also showcased squall/hail-like conditions along with gusty winds over Gujarat and Rajasthan. “Rain and thunderstorm will occur over central India on April 21 and 22 and over east India during April 20-22, 2022,” the IMD tweeted.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will experience dust storms on April 20 and April 21, 2022. “Duststorm/Thunderstorm at isolated places very likely over Rajasthan on 20th & 21st and over Uttar Pradesh on April 21, 2022,” the IMD wrote.
The department also said that heavy rainfall will continue over Assam and Meghalaya. “Heavy rainfall spell likely to continue over Assam-Meghalaya during next 5 days.”
