New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in North and Northeastern parts of India on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
The IMD took to Twitter and shared a map showcasing spatial distribution of rainfall.
The IMD wrote, “Widespread rain with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Jammu and Kashmir during July 27-30; Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during July 26-30; Rajasthan on July 26 and 27; UP and Bihar during July 28-30; north Punjab and north Haryana-Chandigarh during July 27-30, 2022.”
“Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on July 28 and July 29, 2022, and over south Rajasthan on July 26, 2022,” the department tweeted.
Informing about rainfall expected in the Northeast India, the IMD tweeted, “Widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during July 26-30, 2022.”
“Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on July 29 and July 30, 2022,” it added.
