New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted isolated heavy to fairly widespread heavy rainfall over northern and North-eastern states of India on Friday, September 23, 2022.
IMD took to twitter and shared a spatial rainfall distribution map from September 23 to September 27, 2022.
Informing about the possibility of rainfall in North India, IMD said, “Isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm accompanied by lightning very likely over Uttarakhand on September 23-24; Himachal Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh during September 23-25; Haryana, Chandigarh and East Rajasthan on September 23-24; East Uttar Pradesh on September 25 and Delhi on September 23, 2022.”
Talking about the rainfall conditions in the sub-Himalayan region, IMD said, “Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on September 22 and September 23, 2022. Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during September 23 to September 25, 2022.”
“Fairly widespread/Widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and hunderstorm/lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during September 23-25; Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during September 23 and September 24, 2022,” the IMD added.
