New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) took to Twitter and predicted heavy rainfall in the Indian state of Gujarat and adjoining regions.
The department posted a rainfall distribution map on its Twitter handle with a caption that read, “Fairly widespread/ widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, and Goa during August 05 to August 09, 2022.”
The department also predicted isolated very heavy rainfall over Gujarat Region on August 05, August 08, and August 09, 2022.
“Isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over Gujarat Region and Vidharbha on August 09, 2022, and over Chhattisgarh, Konkan, and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on August 08 and August 09, 2022,” the IMD tweeted.
Meanwhile, the IMD also predicted rainfall over Odisha. “Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Odisha during August 07 – August 09, 2022,” the department wrote.
“Isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over Odisha on August 08 and August 09, 2022,” it added.
