29, June-2021, Ahmedabad: The growing tussle between the Center and Twitter got heated yesterday when the micro-blogging platform displayed a wrong map of India. Because of the growing controversy, Twitter corrected its mistake of displaying a map of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as separate countries, late on Monday night

However, Twitter’s troubles on this issue are not over yet.

Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director of Twitter India, has been booked under Section 505 (2) of the IPC and Section 74 of the IT (Amendment) Act 2008 and a case has been registered against him after a complaint of a Bajrang Dal leader in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr.

Twitter showed the wrong map of India.

This disputed map of India was shown on Twitter’s website on Monday morning. There was a ruckus after Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were shown as separate countries under the title ‘Tweep Life’ in the career section on the website.

After the surfacing of this controversial map, questions were raised on Twitter’s intentions. Since then, the company has been facing heavy criticism. However, Twitter had corrected the error by late Monday evening.
